Niki is 100% a badass professional whom I trusted wholeheartedly throughout this entire process. But she is more than just a super talented photographer - she is such a genuine human being. After being able to talk with Niki and get to know her a bit more while getting ready and even beforehand during our first call, it was super apparent that I was working with someone who was not just passionate about her work, but also passionate about her clients.

This experience is something that I'm truly going to cherish - and would love to do again. Never would I have imagined that I would do a boudoir shoot! What started out as something that was just supposed to be a gift turned into an unexpectedly uplifting experience. No matter where I was in my life - health-wise, school-wise, career-wise, etc. - I always felt somewhat unsatisfied with myself. Like I would never be pretty enough, or skinny enough, or just good enough. But being in the shoot and doing something that was totally out of my comfort zone, I didn't think that I would feel as confident and powerful as I did. It wasn't even about being dolled up or wearing the sexy outfits I had on - there was something about just capturing images of myself in those moments that made me feel so at peace with who I am and in my own skin. I felt so pretty, and sexy, and just... soo GOOD.  

After seeing some of the gorgeous prints I was able to take home as an early birthday gift, my fiance said, "I hope you feel and see how strong and beautiful you are, the way I see you every day." And after having done this, I can now say that I do, and I can't thank Her Story Images enough for such an empowering experience. It's definitely one I'd recommend to any woman!!

This is something that I’ve always wanted to do, but I always had an excuse. It was either: I need to lose weight, I’m too old, or I don’t have a significant other. Being a divorced single mom of 3 kinda messes up your self esteem. I then realized, I need to love myself and embrace my beauty my body for what it is no matter what age, and I’m doing this for myself, not anyone else. This is why I decided to gift myself for my 40th birthday (but did it after my birthday because of the pandemic). It takes a lot for us women to get out of our comfort zone and put any insecurities to the side.

My experience the day of my photo session was extraordinary. The second I stepped on the doorstep, seeing my name on the welcome board, being greeted with a smile as soon as the door opened made me feel special and at ease. When I got my hair and make up done, I felt like it was a girls night out. Just 3 girlfriends laughing and talking about life. I felt soooo comfortable. I decided to do a boudoir session because I was referred by a friend who did a boudoir session, and I wanted to do this to get back to my roots of loving me and appreciating me. Before I came in I was feeling a little nervous. You can look online all you want, but the feeling before you come in is not the same as when you walk in the door and are pampered. So I was a little nervous, but I was also very excited. I was worried about looking at myself in a different light…because it’s not something you just go out and do everyday, so it was unfamiliar territory.

"I came in for a boudoir shoot because I wanted to document and celebrate my body where it is today. My husband’s birthday was coming up, so that was an opportunity to do it, but it was really for me. I’ve never really liked my body, and I wanted to celebrate it a little bit more, especially after having two kids. 

I was most nervous about finding the right outfits, but after I talked with Niki, I felt better. There was a lot of material to look through, and I felt excited about the shoot. We had a ton of fun the day of the shoot…I felt really sad leaving because we got along so well. I can see looking at the pictures how I felt during the shoot. I wanted to do this session because I needed an extra reminder of my beauty and self worth and my weight loss journey. I wanted to see myself under a different light, and I needed to feel like a woman again…I kinda lost that and you brought it back to me. Niki made me feel extremely comfortable. A couple weeks before the shoot I was freaking out but she reached out to me and reminded me that it’s all in me.

When I came in, I was ecstatic and excited. The vibe was here, the love was here, there was no judgement. Everything is open and extremely comfortable…it didn’t matter if I had rolls or anything, Niki made me feel amazing. I felt like I was a princess. It seemed perfect to gift myself a boudoir shoot for my 35th birthday - a celebration of all that I am! There was something special about Niki as I browsed through her gorgeous website. I saw women of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, ages & stories. I could FEEL her love through her narrative ... then we talked on the phone and that sealed the deal.

I knew Niki was going to be my photographer, but I had NO idea how much love, time and energy she would put into everything. I came in for a photo session because I wanted to see myself as I really am. My children are growing up and leaving the house, so I wanted to see myself outside of all these life changes. You kind of forget where you are at your moment in life because family dominates everything. This was my moment in time, and I really wanted to see that.

I was feeling relaxed before I came in because Niki’s emails are brilliant. I read all the emails and that made this so easy! I loved all the suggestions, the step by steps, reading what other women said and their stories.

The day of the session was beautiful. It was relaxing, reassuring, I felt totally confident, I was in good hands! I was a little anxious to see my photos but also excited. When I got my album after my first photo session, I felt prettier than I had felt in a long time. Growing up, I was often called smart, it was the adjective that everyone used to describe me. But I would also like to be called beautiful. When I look at my images, I feel beautiful. And you can’t really put a price on that. I knew I wanted to do another boudoir session. It was important enough to make it a priority. I feel so pretty during the shoot and having the photos means the world. 

Since I had been here before, I was really excited to come back in! And I want to come back again! It’s great because you have different sets and there’s more room to be creative. "I wanted to do a boudoir session because it’s something that is totally new to me. Back home we don’t do things like this. I’m close to 50 years old, and I think I am at my best shape that I could be. So I wanted to capture my body before I get even older.

Before my photo session, I felt very nervous because I am a very camera shy person. I was also looking forward to it because I just wanted to see myself in a different way because it’s not something you see every day. I think it’s a good way to capture my best self right now at this moment and also to remind myself to love yourself.

The day of my session, I came in the early morning and everything felt great. Niki was very friendly and so was Diana. We just talked while we did my makeup and I felt very relaxed. It wasn’t like we were doing a job. It was like we are friends and doing something meaningful and exciting. So at that time I felt very relaxed. Niki really helped me a lot to feel comfortable and not so worried about myself.

My fiancé requested boudoir photos specifically as a wedding gift, and I had been relatively curious about it but never had a reason. So it was a great chance to say that it was for him but also have it be a little bit for me. I was pretty excited before my session and curious to see what it would be like, and I was just looking for ward to the whole experience.

The day of my session was great. It was really comfortable with just Niki and Diana and feeling like there was no pressure and no sense of you are not going to do that right. Hair and makeup was wonderful, and it was so great to chat during that time and just get more comfortable. And during the shoot after a little bit of time you slowly warm up, and it just flew by! It was really wonderful, and there was never a moment when I didn’t know what I was doing, because Niki demonstrated or walked me through everything.

I was more nervous to see my photos because of the uncertainty of how will I look since I don’t see myself in these ways. So, I was excited but also nervous because in your head you are like, “what if all of the photos are bad” because there is that little part of you that thinks they might all be horrible. After seeing the photos, I think I am beautiful and sexy, and it is really an uplifting and empowering moment to see yourself in this way. It’s also amazing to see potentially what your fiancé or significant other sees and the switch clicking of any self doubt you have or any negative insecurities you have about your own body it kind of slowly helps wash it away. And being able to see yourself in so many different poses and outfits and lighting just proves that you are beautiful. And you feel it. I feel it. I knew I was beautiful because I think everyone is beautiful, so why wouldn’t I be, but it’s really cool to see yourself in the same light that you see others in. It’s wonderful!

I wanted to do a boudoir shoot as a way to honor myself and my beauty and help boost my self confidence. After seeing all the images that has definitely been the case. It’s been fun to do the photo shoot and see the photos themselves. I love them all!

Before I came in, I was extremely nervous. I’ve always been very self conscious, so it was definitely nerve racking to come in. As soon as I stepped into the studio that all completely changed. I was nervous about having these types of images of myself being taken. My partner told me to be out of my head and enjoy the process. So I left my negative thoughts outside and just enjoyed being in the poses and the different outfits, and that totally helped. No matter how nervous I was when I walked in, as soon as I met Niki I felt better. Talking with Niki and Diana during hair and makeup helped calm my nerves, and Niki was constantly checking in with me which made the process fun! During the actual photos themselves, it was nice to be able to leave the creativity part to Niki because I trusted her vision. Being showered in compliments helped me be more comfortable in my own skin.

As soon as I was finished with the photo shoot I was so excited and happy. I told my partner how much I wished he could see the photos, and we were counting down the days until we could see them! The photos came out way better than I could have anticipated. I loved having the prints and the ordering process helps with being able to choose your favorite photos. I came in for a shoot after I broke up with my boyfriend. My friend had told me how self-invigorating her shoot was. I was nervous before my shoot. I was nervous about my size, and if I’d look the way I'd seen on Niki's social media and if that was even possible. I had wanted to lose 20 pounds before coming in. I loved all the information I got beforehand about outfits and getting ready. I felt more comfortable the day of my shoot. As soon as I got settled, I felt comfortable.

I’ve been on a self-love journey for the past year, and the photo session aligned with the anniversary. This is a period of my life where I’m actually healthy and happy, so it seemed like a great idea to celebrate. I was really excited before the shoot. I was a little nervous but I had so much confidence in Niki because of her website. I could tell she knew what she was doing. I was expecting it to be fun, but it was ten times greater. It was such a great day. Everything felt professional and organized and fun. Everyone had a good vibe. Diana did a great job with hair and makeup.

After having so many kids, I didn’t view myself as a woman, but more as a mom. I came in for a boudoir session because I needed to get back to feeling beautiful. I was so nervous before my session. I second guessed everything. I was like, “why am I doing this?” And I had to tell myself, “you deserve this…you are as beautiful as any other woman out there.” I was nervous about wardrobe thinking that nothing was going to look right or flatter my body. I felt much more confident after the wardrobe consultation.

When I came in for my session, I felt really good. I was still nervous but I felt comfortable. When I came back to the studio to see my photos, I was nervous again because you go through the motions of wardrobe and getting ready and now you get to see yourself. So I had just a bit of anxiety. But I love my photos. I absolutely love them! It was very emotional seeing them because it is more confirmation for myself that I am beautiful. I think it’s not just about the session, it makes me remember when I am getting ready or dressing down to just remember that I am beautiful and to feel more sure. I would tell any woman considering a photo session to just go for it! I’ve told my best friends, you should do it. It means so much more than the pictures. It’s helped me with my inner self.

I came in for my photo session because I’m pregnant and I wanted to do this for myself. I chose Niki because I love the way she poses women. I was nervous about my body before I came in. I felt really good once I arrived for my photo session. I loved the makeup artist and the whole feel was very calming and relaxing. I had always wanted to do a boudoir shoot and I was turning 30 so it was a gift to myself as a way to kickstart 30! I was a bit nervous but also excited. I was happy that I was proven wrong, and that I did like them! Sometimes I can’t stand smiling photos, but I especially like the smiling ones. I’m like ok, I need to start smiling more! I’ve never seen anybody with the wings, so that was great to use the wings in my photos! I feel good.

This is my third session with Niki and I decided to come back multiple times because I had so much fun through each session I’ve learned more about myself. It’s a great way to remember how you change and how you’ve grow as a person. When you feel more confident and do something that makes you happy it’s great to see how that creativity is expressed through art and photography…it’s pretty amazing!

I tell all my friends about doing a boudoir session…it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. Especially working with Niki is such a liberating experience. In the beginning it’s kinda scary and you don’t know what to expect. But when you work with Niki, she makes you feel so comfortable. By the end of the shoot, you are trying to figure out new poses, you want to try on more outfits, and you are sad the session is over because it’s so much fun. I wanted to come in because two years ago I had cancer, and I have this scar and I also have a gene that causes breast cancer, so I am going to do a preventative surgery end of this year or early next, so I wanted to take the photos before that happens, to kind of like document my past journey and preserve this current self. 

Before I came in, I felt excited but also overwhelmed, I wasn’t sure what to expect. So I was definitely apprehensive, but excited to have some beautiful photos and just a little overwhelmed because I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I got there, especially with the welcome sign and the attention, I felt really great. I felt extremely taken care of and it felt like I was a model, and I very much had an experience of being attended to, which was really nice. Before I came in to view the photos, I felt very excited. I was not nervous at all. When I saw the photos, I felt very pleased. I think that when I had the photo session, and Niki showed me some of the photos, it really helped me to be more excited. I think I would have been more nervous if I hadn’t seen any beforehand. I already saw that some were very beautiful, so I was very excited to see them. 

If I had a friend who was thinking of doing a photo shoot, I would tell her to do it! I tell a bunch of people that I liked it more than I expected to do. Originally, I wanted to do it just to have the photos, and I wasn’t thinking about it as being this really fun and exciting experience in and of itself. I was just like “oh I’m going to have these photos and I just have to get through doing it”. But it’s a fun experience.

I came in for my boudoir session before my wedding, and it was on my list of things to do. I was worried I was going to look really fat or see myself from weird angles that weren’t flattering. I had done photo shoots before in China with very heavy makeup, so I was a bit worried about seeing myself the way I really look. A boudoir shoot is a good way to reframe how you see yourself. Once you see the photos you realize you are a normal looking person. As a teen I grew up seeing photos in magazines of women who were so skinny they looked like they were going to break. That’s finally starting to change and it’s great to be part of that.

I came in for a boudoir session because I wanted something unique for a wedding gift for my husband, and I wanted to push myself out of my comfort level, so I decided to do something spontaneously and booked a boudoir session. I was nervous before my session because I was feeling insecure about myself and my body. But from the get-go as soon as I got here, I just felt a sense of comfort, and didn’t think about it. I just had fun with it. And I enjoyed it! I was a little nervous before I came in to see my photos. I was so nervous before my photo session. Then I got here and met Niki and Diana and we started talking, and after that I felt fine. I was so shocked when I saw the photos because they looked so nice. I didn’t recognize myself. It was really nice to sit and be able to see the photos one at a time and to see the black and white and color photos. Now that I have the prints and albums, I look at them at home all the time.

If you are thinking about doing a boudoir photo shoot, I would definitely say book with Niki because Niki makes it so comfortable….she is very personable and we talked about life too. My great grandma was a very sassy lady and she always had nude paintings in her apartment and always told me that I should take nude photos when I am young. And my partner will get to enjoy the photos as well. I was a little nervous because my last photo shoot was my senior portraits in high school. I had butterflies in my stomach, but it was so much fun during the photo session! Afterwards I was on cloud nine! I got to see a side of myself that I’ve never seen. I’ve been wanting to do a boudoir shoot for the past few years. I know that in 30 years when I”m older I’m gong to look back at how I looked when I was 26 and think I was beautiful. I want to have documented evidence that I was not only beautiful, but that I appreciated that I was beautiful.

I saw the photos of previous clients so I trusted that Niki would be able to help me look good and pose me in the best way. I was feeling good knowing that I could trust Niki to do the job of being critical, and I could just relax. It felt a bit scandalous knowing I’d be naked in front of the camera. I liked how Niki directed me, and I could tell she had done this a lot. I liked that I had access to the lingerie closet so I didn’t have to worry about what to wear. There were a lot of options, which was great.

I’ve always wanted to do a boudoir shoot because I wanted to feel sexy. I’m 52 and I don’t feel sexy but Niki made me feel it! I was anxious and a little nervous before the shoot. But I was also excited because I had seen so many of Niki’s photos and read the reviews and I told myself, “that’s what I want to do, I want to feel that way.” Before going into the shoot I felt nervous about my body. I wanted to come in for a boudoir session for a long time. I wanted to celebrate my body and have something tangible to look back on like 20 years down the road, and to see how fuckin’ awesome I am, and to try to believe that. I also wanted to give a gift to my partner for Valentine’s day. I was thinking, “what can I give him that is special and different that he would love?”, and I think he’s totally gonna get a kick out of this and love it.

Before I came in I was feeling excited and a little bit nervous, but I saw Niki’s website and we had talked before so I was feeling comfortable and I knew that it was all going to be ok. I was nervous about taking the photos, about posing and feeling awkward. During the shoot, I felt totally comfortable, I was like totally naked and I felt comfortable. Looking back on it, I’m like “who was that person that was totally cool with this?”, but I felt comfortable.

When I came to see my photos, I was feeling excited, when Niki showed me the back of the camera on the day of the shoot, I was like “Oh, man, it’s gonna look really good”. So I was really exited. I had gone a a retreat the weekend before the photo shoot, and I had been chatting with some of the people on the retreat, and one of the people on the retreat had said, “I want you to remember this: celebrate your awesomeness”, so I was like “I’m gonna celebrate my awesomeness!”.

When I saw the photos, I felt overwhelmed at first, but also pleased and good. Niki did a wonderful job making me look pretty and sexy. This is a big gift for myself.

Niki was AWESOME!!! I went to a Bridal expo with my friends in the beginning of this year; and my friend said I should definitely give this a try and later in the year, I finally spoke with Niki and finally did my photoshoot.

I was a little nervous first because I have never done this kind of photoshoot before - but she made it seem so easy and comfortable for me to be me! Towards the end of my session I opened up more and became more comfortable with everything.

I personally would recommend her if anyone wanted to give this a try. She is a wonderful person and Diana the make up artist was awesome too. She knew exactly what she needed to make me look beautiful for the shoot.

I had decided about 2 years ago to focus on my physical health, and I lost a significant amount of weight. I was able to keep it off during Covid by being really dedicated to my health, and I wanted to document the transformation. I also realized this is my body, and I should be proud of it. I’ve done a great job, and this is it. I’ve had 3 children, and I realized I’ve worked hard to get my body back, and it’s time to celebrate me!

I’m a planner, so before my shoot I had everything planned out. Niki was great and let me know what to expect so I wasn’t nervous. I knew how to prep and felt thoroughly confident by the time I showed up.

The day of the session was just fun. It was the accumulation of two years of work, so it felt kinda like graduation. Niki and Diana were great! I was excited after the shoot to come back in and see the photos.

Before I came in for my ordering appointment, I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to look like myself because I hadn’t done professional hair and make up before, and that’s the first time I had ever worn false eyelashes. Also my hair is normally straight and we curled it. I wasn’t sure what I’d walk away with, but I came in with an open mind.

My advice to any woman thinking of doing a boudoir session: I would say definitely do it. Niki made the whole process so comfortable. I like the fact that Niki’s photos are natural and they are not completely photoshopped. Niki’s artistic vision is great! Niki has a look that celebrates instead of objectifies women. I also think that as mom’s and women, we are used to being behind the camera taking pictures of our kids or we are constantly picking apart our bodies. Being able to say , “No, actually I feel confident enough about myself to get these photos, and I’m going to celebrate where I am at,” was great. It’s so helpful, and it solidified it. It helped give me the confirmation that Yes, I can feel good about myself and I don’t need to keep picking on myself!

I wanted to do a boudoir shoot for my partner’s birthday and anniversary gift. I was excited and a little nervous. I felt comfortable the day of the shoot. I was more nervous to see the photos than to take them because I don’t think of myself as photogenic. I was blown out of the water when I saw the photos…it was a lot better than what I was expecting. It’s so impactful and meaningful to get a snapshot of yourself, remind yourself of your prettiest and remind other people. I was excited before I came in because the FB group, communication and website made me really comfortable. I had no fear or worries at all. Niki created a very comfortable environment where everybody is celebrated so I felt comfortable to come in and express. I was pretty excited to see my photos. I was happy with the posing, lighting and photography.
